![]() These really do complement the Ritchey Ti Cross frame. They fold down to less than 1.5 inches wide!!!! And are light and durable. These are very thin wheels with removable hubs. Speaking of travel, I recently got my hands on a set of Nimble Crosswinds. I am soo confident in this bike I plan to take it with me on my ride across America. I broke a spoke once, which was not really the case or frames fault, but rather incorrectly packed the wheel. The case has been beaten to death, and the frame is always perfect. This frame is 5 gold stars and would highly recommend it. Its a comfortable frame, don't expect Porsche performance from a Cadillac. This is not a big deal, but I prefer a lower center of gravity in races. Second, I don't want my team logos plastered all over, it's excellent industrial finish. This frame is suitable for racing, but I would not recommend it. ![]() I recommend snap on fenders anyways! Bolting on/off fenders is a PITA. True the Ritchey fork does not have fender mounts, but the frame does. I swapped mine with a Thompson MP and have never since had a problem. because of the frame junction, some carbon posts will creak and drive you insane. There are some things you should know that are not on the internet. The Ritchey Cross fork is very light, and quite durable (not the stiffest though). A very impressive weight for a bike that fits in a suitcase! My frame is under 1400g without cable couplers, but includes the steel clamp. hp?t=32491 Ignore my posts about 135mm spacing, I was on crack! It's 130mm. the Ritchey Ti Cross Breakaway is an amazing bike. If I could take one thing with me when I die it would be this bike. Or the road around Haleakala in Maui - that one's pretty rugged. Now all you need is a ticket to southern Tuscany to go rally on some strada bianca.good times. Steel cross frame - good adventure bike, pretty damn heavy. Ti road frame - really, it's just not that much better than the steel and cost 2.5X - woulda been better with a Ti rear triangle anyway.Ĥ. Steel Road frameset - good value, rides really well.ģ. Ti Cross frameset - worth the price of admission for ride quality and versatility. In general for "good road bike" application:ġ. I'd race the Ti cross frame on the road with some fast wheels - it's that good. I had the steel cross too (yes, it's kind of a pig, but it rides really well) and even it was an astoundingly good bicycle overall. They actually handle quite nicely and descend on rails. ![]() It will take full fenders to become your spring bike (with the EC90X), room for any tires and rides like a very good road bike (Ritchey's cross geometry is rather road-ish). Could possibley be the perfect "only" bike. You can easily build it to 16-17 lbs., don't need to use a brake cable coupler (canti's) and don't have to remove the front brake. They ride well and, having ridden both, I believe the steel road frame is the "ride quality" equal of something like the CoMotion CoPilot (S&S frame).įor an ideal travel/multi bike, get the Ti cross frame, replace the fork with an EC90X.
